Why an environmental and animal protection political party? For decades, concerned people have been fighting to protect Canada's environment and wild and domestic animals. And, for decades, they've been losing. They've exposed the dangers, raised public awareness, pleaded with governments, educated schools of children, protested, conducted endless research and published studies. They've taken governments and industry to court and won. Nevertheless, Canada still has one of the developed world's worst environmental records, and it's getting worse. |
The
reason is that, for the most part, politicians decide the quality of
Canada's environment and whether or not animals will be treated humanely. The political reality is that the Canadian government's environmental and animal protection policies will never improve until environmentalists reward politicians who protect the environment and animals and punish those who don't. We can only do that in elections. We can only do that as a registered political party. |
